Location
PARK ENTRANCE
While located on the same property as The Virginian Lodge, we operate a separate entrance and separate check-in. Follow map directions to 90 Virginian Lane and enter through the gated RV Park entrance on Virginian Lane, across from the Teton County Public Library. Do not enter the Virginian Lodge entrance on Broadway Ave. When leaving the RV Park, use the marked exit on the map.
TETON PASS
The main highway leading into Jackson from the west is Teton Pass, WY-22. “The Pass” as locals call it includes 10% grades for 5 miles on either side, with winding, curving roads – and Google Maps won’t hesitate to send you that way. While the Pass is drivable by RV’ers many recommend taking an alternative route.
Please remember, to safely travel Teton Pass you must:
- Be an alert, well-trained, experienced driver.
- Drive patiently, cautiously, and defensively.
- Obey all signs and restrictions, including the seasonal closure for all trailer traffic from Nov. 15 through April 1 (trailer traffic includes any tow behind trailers).
Don’t risk it. Teton Pass has some of the steepest grades in the continental United States and sometimes it’s best to take an alternative route. The most frequently used alternative route is through Idaho’s Swan Valley, along the Palisades Reservoir to Wyoming’s Hoback Jct. on Wyoming Highway 26/89.
ROAD CLOSURES
From seasonal road closures, spring snow, and summer road construction the thoroughfares into Jackson Hole can be impacted.
TETON PASS
During the occasional spring or fall snowstorm, the Wyoming Department of Transportation will reinstate restrictions on trailer traffic outside of the posted seasonal closure. Look for posted signs and for information about Wyoming road regulations and conditions, including Teton Pass/WY-22, visit www.wyoroad.info.
GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK
The Teton Park Road is closed seasonally from November 1 to April 30 from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Signal Mountain Lodge.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
Yellowstone National Park roads are closed in the Spring while crews clear a winter’s worth of packed snow from the Grand Loop. That includes Jackson’s direct access to the park, the South Entrance. Conditions permitting, roads open at 8 a.m. on posted dates – the South Entrance traditionally opens the third week of May. All roads open by Memorial Day weekend.
Yellowstone Park Road opening information can be found at https://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/parkroads.htm.
Yellowstone has five entrance stations, and it takes hours to drive between them. Be sure to check the road statuses to the entrance you intend to use.
For up-to-date information call (307) 344-2117 for recorded information or sign up to receive Yellowstone road alerts on your mobile phone by texting "82190" to 888-777 (an automatic text reply will confirm receipt and provide instructions). Anticipate possible road closures due to inclement weather and dangerous driving conditions. Open roads are not gated at night: people may enter/exit the park 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
